President succumbs to arm-twisting

Friday, September 26th, 2008

After two weeks of arm-twisting Mode Project was able to wrestle some good copy from David Stevenson, the President of Chicago-based agency twoxfour and lead organizer of the 2008 CCC Awards. Actually, that’s not true. David kindly offered these words a few days after the event:

“Mode Project captured what we wanted the event to be about, which is the Chicago advertising community. The work was elegant and seamless in its concept and performance.”

He then added:

“Mode Project’s design team did a great job of executing the work live. Everything appeared as scripted but the beauty of the processing approach is that it allowed room for spontaneous, unplanned moments that occur during a live show.

Thanks again to twoxfour for the opportunity. We’ll see you next year (at the award show bar).

2008 Chicago Creative Club Awards Show

Thursday, September 25th, 2008

Mode Project crated show titles that introduce categories, nominees, and presenters for the 2008 Chicago Creative Club Awards, a show honoring the vest advertising work form the Windy city in the past year.  TwoxFour asked us to help with motion design for the event.  We had a short turn around time and our content would be changing up until the last minute.  Visual inspiration came from that year’s theme, ‘You are the Show’ weaving community and individual importance.  Using Processing, an open-source programming platform, the system became a living thing that we could control.  We used a custom-designed interface to perform the piece live, in real-time.  We chose to work with Mark Greenberg at Mayfair Workshop to compose the original music for this piece.

CCC 2008 : You Are The Show

Thursday, September 4th, 2008

Mode Project will be contributing motion design for the Chicago Creative Club Awards Show this coming Wednesday, September 10 at Soldier Field.

Our design and programming team is working with a dedicated crew from twoxfour to develop a unique take on this year’s theme, “You Are The Show.” If we don’t see you at the show (which we should, unless you’re Lewis Lazare) look for clips from the event next week.

Cheers.
