$46 billion in food purchases leave the state of Illinois every year. By producing more of the food we consume locally, we could see a $2.5 billion economic benefit to our region. That's why we were excited to collaborate with design studio Thirst and the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning on a short film which shows local food production as an important economic issue. The film, which was created for CMAP's local food microsite
, personalizes the story by using interviews with farmers, consumers and restaurateurs. Type-driven CG transitions and documentary-style footage provide a rich visual track for the story.
